Runit provides a realtime POS solution with no required software. This Internet–based program will work with almost any POS system and is a very good point of sale solution.
Runit will customize a POS solution to fit your business—not the other way around. You can add and take away features as your business grows or just during busy times, like the holidays. However, be prepared to pay a bit more for the luxuries Runit provides. The monthly fee is $129.99 and of course you'll have to purchase the computer and any needed hardware peripherals separately.
Runit does not currently distribute their POS solution with a specific computer or package. The Runit Real Time program is intended to run on any internet connected computer.
Runit’s web–based software has all of the practical features you need to run a retail store. Something that sets this POS solution apart is that they will customize the software package to fit your needs. You can talk to a representative who will ask you some simple questions about your business—then they will build a package specifically for your store.
The Runit software will track layaways, back orders, special orders and has a gift registry. It will store all of your customer’s information including transaction history and credit limit. You will also be able to track your employees’ time and commission.
A web–based system has some important advantages. You can access all of the reports from your corporate headquarters and Runit will backup and store all important information. However, there is an additional charge if you want to access the database from more than one workstation.
You could approach Runit with almost any need, whether it is integrating a warehouse with your store or a website with your store, and they would have a solution.
The system is easy to navigate and use, and they offer a free trial so you can try it before you buy it. The web-based solution offers tremendous versatility for your POS solution.
The Runit system is a good POS solution, and they provide a top–notch service. It may be overkill for a small store, so we recommend carefully evaluating your needs and plans for the future, and then talking to a representative to see if the Runit POS is right for you. The price of the web-based program is decent, but keep in mind that you will need to buy the computer system seperately, as well as any peripherals (card readers, scanners, printers) you might want to incorporate. The one-time setup fee is $600 per location, with an additional $300 per workstation.
Runit offers an online manual for almost every aspect of your system. If you have further questions, you can contact their customer support team by email or phone. We found the customer service representatives helpful in providing valuable information about their system.
The web–based Runit software creates a versatile point of sale system that is efficient and easy to use. The service isn't a complete solution, but is a decent option if you're looking for web-based POS or already have the hardware.
